Which window art prints work best for a living room with limited natural light?

Go for a window view print that depicts a bright, sun-drenched scene. Think open shutters looking out over a Mediterranean courtyard or a sunlit coastal landscape. A framed window art print in a lighter wood frame (natural oak, for example) at around 50x70cm above a sofa will create the illusion of an extra light source and stop the room feeling boxed in. Our museum-grade matte paper has zero glare, so even under artificial lighting the colours stay rich and true without any shiny reflections washing out the image.

How big should a window scene print be to make a real statement on a large blank wall?

For a blank wall that feels unfinished, we'd push you towards our largest framed print size of 70x100cm or 100x70cm. Window scene wall art loses its magic when it's too small because the whole appeal is that sense of looking through an opening into another world. If you go smaller than 50x70cm, it'll feel like a porthole rather than a window. Position it so the centre sits roughly at eye level and give it some breathing room on either side. Our framed prints arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you won't be wrestling with DIY once it shows up.

Do vintage window prints suit modern interiors or will they look out of place?

Vintage window prints are actually one of the best ways to add warmth and texture to a modern interior without cluttering it. A print of weathered shutters or an old arched window pairs brilliantly with clean-lined furniture and neutral walls because the contrast does all the heavy lifting. We'd recommend a black frame to keep it feeling contemporary rather than nostalgic. If you're replacing a piece of mass-produced wall art that never quite felt right, a well-framed vintage window print in solid wood framing (ours is FSC-certified, no MDF) will immediately feel like a step up in quality.

Can I create a gallery wall using different window art prints together?

Absolutely, and window artwork for walls is one of the most satisfying gallery wall themes because there's a natural visual consistency. The trick is to stick to one frame colour throughout and mix your window styles: pair an architectural window print of a Gothic arch with a rustic window art piece showing peeling paint and a bright window view print overlooking the sea. Three prints in a horizontal row (all the same size, around 30x40cm, spaced about 5cm apart) works perfectly above a console table or sideboard. Because each of our framed prints arrives properly fitted with no warping or bubbling, they'll sit flush and level next to each other straight out of the box.

Where else can window themed prints work besides the living room?

Hallways and landings are genuinely the sweet spot for window art prints. These are transitional spaces that people overlook, and a well-chosen window view print creates a sense of depth that makes a narrow hallway feel wider. A tall, portrait-oriented architectural window print at around 50x70cm is perfect for the end of a corridor because it draws the eye and gives the illusion of looking through to somewhere else. Bathrooms work well too, especially if you don't have a window in there already. Our giclée inks are UV-protective and built to last hundreds of years, so you won't see fading even in a bright spot.
