What size botanical print should I hang above my bed?
For the wall above a standard double or king bed, we recommend a single botanical print at 70x100cm or a set of three prints at around 30x40cm each. The 2/3 rule is your friend here: your art should span roughly two-thirds the width of the headboard so it feels intentional, not lost. Our framed botanical prints for bedroom walls arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you can get them up the same day they land.
Are botanical prints still in style for bedrooms?
Botanical prints aren't trend-dependent in the way geometric or abstract art can be. They've been a fixture in well-designed bedrooms for literally centuries, from Victorian fern studies to the pared-back leaf prints popular right now. What changes is the treatment: we think modern botanical art in soft, muted greens on a matte finish feels far more current than high-gloss tropical prints. As long as you pick quality over novelty, botanical bedroom wall art won't date on you.
How do I choose between vintage botanical prints and modern styles for my bedroom?
It comes down to the rest of your room. If you have warm wood furniture, linen bedding, or antique touches, vintage botanical prints with detailed illustrations and aged paper tones will feel right at home. For a cleaner, more minimal space with white or grey walls and simple furniture, go modern: think single stems, flat colour, and plenty of negative space. Either way, our museum-grade giclée printing handles fine detail and natural colour beautifully, so both styles look striking up close.
Will my botanical prints fade in a bright, south-facing bedroom?
Not with ours. Every framed art print ships with UV-protective acrylic glaze that prevents fading even in direct sunlight, and we use museum-quality inks rated to last hundreds of years. So if your bedroom gets a lot of natural light (lucky you), your botanical wall art will hold its colour without you needing to keep the blinds half-closed. It's one of the biggest differences between a properly framed print and the cheap alternatives that wash out in a year.
Why does botanical art work so well in bedrooms?
Bedrooms need to feel calm, and botanical art delivers that without being boring. Plant and leaf prints bring soft, natural colour into the room (greens and earth tones lower visual stress far more than bold abstracts), and the organic shapes create a sense of rhythm that feels restful rather than stimulating. If you follow feng shui principles, nature imagery in the bedroom is considered one of the best choices for promoting rest. We think a single large botanical print or a curated set of three is the easiest way to make a blank bedroom wall feel finished.
