How big should a Santorini print be for my living room wall?
For the wall above a standard sofa (roughly 180-200cm wide), we'd go with a 70x100cm framed Santorini art print every time. It fills the space properly without looking lost. The two-thirds rule is your friend here: your print should be about two-thirds the width of the furniture below it. If you're hanging on a blank wall with no furniture beneath, go bigger. Our largest framed prints at 70x100cm make a genuine statement and the museum-grade giclée printing means the detail in those Oia rooftops and caldera views holds up beautifully even at that size.
Which Santorini scenes work best as wall art?
The blue-domed churches of Oia are the iconic choice for good reason: that sharp contrast of cobalt blue against white walls and terracotta gives you a print that reads clearly from across the room and works with almost any neutral palette. If your space already leans cool and minimal, look for Santorini photography prints that capture the golden-hour caldera views instead. They bring warmth without clashing. For bedrooms, the quieter coastal scenes with pale stone steps and bougainvillea tend to feel more restful than the busier village panoramas.
Will the colours in a Santorini print fade near a sunny window?
Not with ours. Every framed Santorini print ships with UV-protective acrylic glazing, and we use museum-grade inks rated to last hundreds of years even in direct sunlight. So that south-facing living room wall you've been nervous about? Perfect spot. The acrylic glaze also eliminates glare, which means you'll actually see the print rather than a reflection of your window. Framed prints arrive fully assembled and ready to hang, so there's no fiddling with separate frames that might not fit properly.
Do Santorini prints work as a gift for someone who loves Greece?
They're one of the best gifts you can give someone who's been to Santorini or dreams of going. A framed Santorini blue dome print or a caldera sunset scene is instantly recognisable and genuinely personal. Because our prints arrive framed and ready to hang (no trips to the framer, no assembly), your recipient can put it straight on the wall. We also offer a 99-day returns policy, so if you're not 100% sure on which scene they'd prefer, they've got plenty of time to swap.
Where is the iconic Santorini photo with the blue domes actually taken?
That famous viewpoint is in Oia, on the northern tip of Santorini, looking across at the blue-domed churches of Anastasis and Agios Spyridonas with the caldera and Aegean Sea stretching out behind. It's probably the most photographed spot in all of Greece, and for good reason: the geometry of those domes against the white-washed walls is almost impossibly striking. Our Santorini photography prints capture this scene (and others across the island's villages like Fira and Imerovigli) at high resolution, so you get the depth and texture that cheap travel posters completely miss.
