What is the 70/30 rule in art?

The 70/30 rule is a simple balance guideline: let roughly 70% of a composition or wall be a dominant, restful element and about 30% carry the contrast or focal interest. Applied to decor, that might mean a calm wall color for most of the space and a print doing the heavy lifting visually. It's a rule of thumb, not a law, so trust your eye when a piece feels right.

Should I buy framed or unframed art prints?

Framed prints are the easiest route: they arrive finished, need no assembly, and hang straight away, which suits living rooms and bedrooms where you want a polished look fast. Unframed prints cost less to ship and let you pick a molding that matches your existing furniture or an odd-sized wall. If you already own frames or plan a custom mount, unframed makes sense; otherwise framed saves a step.
