Quote Art Prints

4.8

Words on a wall set a tone before anyone reads them. This is the full spread: bold statements, soft reminders, sharp one-liners. If you want a laugh above the desk, funny quote art prints do the work; for something calmer, minimalist quote art prints sit quietly in a hallway. Kitchen quote art prints suit a spot near the kettle. Pick a tone first, then a size.

What's the difference between literary quote prints and motivational quote prints?

Literary quote prints pull lines from novels, poems, plays and authors, so the appeal is narrative and nostalgic: serif or typewriter-style lettering, muted black and white palettes, and a bookish mood that suits reading nooks, bedrooms and studies. Motivational quote prints use short affirmations and mantras in bolder, more graphic typography, often with brighter color, and they read well in home offices, gyms and entryways where a quick daily push helps. Choose literary for quiet character and storytelling, motivational for energy and focus. Both work framed or unframed, and framed pieces arrive assembled. How many words should a quote print have to stay readable from across the room?

For a print you want to read from across the room, aim for roughly two to six words. Short phrases scale up into big, bold letters, so the message registers instantly from eight or ten feet away. Longer quotes of a sentence or more still work, but treat them as pieces you read up close, in a hallway, entry, or beside a desk, and give them a larger size. Boost legibility with high contrast, a simple serif or sans serif for the main line, script saved for one or two accent words, and plenty of open space around the text. For a related option, explore our Text Art Prints.

How do I choose a quote print as a gift for someone else?

Start with the words, not the design: pick a quote that sounds like the recipient rather than one you personally love, drawing on a line they repeat, a book or lyric they cherish, or a milestone like a new home, graduation or new job. Then match their space by noting the colors, tone and framing style they already live with, and lean toward smaller or mid-size pieces if wall space is unknown. Neutral typography suits most rooms. A framed piece arrives ready to hang with no assembly, shipping is free, and returns run 99 days if the fit is not right. For another take, browse our Inspirational Quote Art Prints.

What size quote print should I get for my bedroom?

For a bedroom, we'd go with a 50x70cm framed quote print centred above your headboard. It's large enough to read comfortably from across the room but won't overwhelm the space. If you have a smaller bedside nook or a narrow wall by the door, a 30x40cm print works perfectly as a quiet, personal touch. The two-thirds rule is your friend here: your print should be roughly two-thirds the width of the furniture below it.

Do your framed quote prints arrive ready to hang?

Yes, every framed quote print ships as one piece with the print already fitted into a solid wood frame with UV-protective acrylic glazing and hanging fixtures attached. You literally open the box and put it on the wall. This matters more than you'd think, because a huge number of framed prints sold online arrive with the frame and print separate, and you end up with bubbling, warping, or a print that just doesn't sit right. Ours are properly fitted before they leave, and our shoppers regularly tell us the quality looks even better in person than on screen.

Where's the best place to hang a motivational quote print?

Your home office is the obvious winner, and for good reason. A motivational quote print directly in your eyeline while you work (not behind you where you'll never see it) genuinely shifts your energy during a long afternoon. The wall facing your desk, roughly at seated eye level, is the sweet spot. Beyond the office, we're big fans of hallways and entryways, because they're spaces you pass through multiple times a day and a well-chosen quote becomes a small daily ritual.

Can I mix funny and inspirational quote prints on the same wall?

Absolutely, and honestly a wall of exclusively earnest quotes can feel a bit much. Mixing in a funny quote art print alongside something more reflective keeps the whole display feeling human and not like a corporate motivational seminar. The trick is consistency in the framing and typography style rather than the tone. Pick one frame finish (we think black works brilliantly for typography), keep all your prints in the same size or a deliberate two-size grid, and let the content range from silly to profound.

How do I choose a quote print that won't feel dated in a year?

Skip anything tied to a specific trend or social media moment and look for literary quote prints, timeless philosophical lines, or short phrases with clean typography on a neutral background. Minimalist quote prints in black and white or muted tones have staying power because they work like a design element rather than a slogan. If you've just finished decorating and want something that ages well alongside your space, think of it this way: if the quote would still resonate written in a book 50 years from now, it'll still look right on your wall.
