Can you actually hang art prints in a bathroom without them getting ruined?
Yes, absolutely. Our framed bathroom art prints use UV-protective acrylic glazing and museum-grade giclée inks that won't fade, even in bright or steamy rooms. The key is to avoid hanging anything directly inside a shower enclosure or where water will hit it. Above the toilet, beside a mirror, or on the wall opposite the bath are all perfect spots. If your bathroom has an extractor fan (most do), moisture really isn't the problem people think it is.
How big should bathroom art be?
For the most common spot, above the toilet, go for a 30x40cm or 40x50cm print. It should be roughly two-thirds the width of the cistern so it looks intentional rather than lost on the wall. If you have a larger feature wall (say, opposite the bath or beside a freestanding vanity), you can go bigger with a 50x70cm framed print or even a pair of smaller prints stacked vertically. In small bathrooms, one well-sized piece always beats a cluster of tiny frames that make the space feel cluttered.
What kind of artwork actually looks good in a bathroom?
We think botanical prints, coastal photography, and simple line art work best as bathroom wall art because they feel calm and connected to water and nature without being on the nose. Avoid anything too busy or dark in a small bathroom since it'll shrink the room visually. Black and white photography is a reliable choice for modern bathrooms, while soft watercolour botanicals suit more traditional spaces. Whatever you pick, a framed print with a clean mount always looks more polished than an unframed poster taped to the wall.
How do I create a gallery wall in a small bathroom?
Keep it tight. Three framed prints arranged vertically in a column works brilliantly in a narrow bathroom, especially on the wall beside a mirror or next to the door. Use the same frame colour for all three (our natural oak or black frames work best here) and keep spacing to about 5cm between each print. Stick to prints that share a colour palette or theme, like three coastal scenes or three minimal line drawings. This gives you gallery wall impact without the visual chaos that kills a small space.
What's the newest trend in bathroom wall decor?
The biggest shift we're seeing is bathrooms being treated like any other room in the house, with properly framed art rather than novelty signs or "wash your hands" prints. Think elegant botanical illustrations, abstract art in earthy tones, or black and white photography. Modern bathroom art prints lean towards minimal, curated, and grown-up. If your bathroom still has a joke print from five years ago, swapping it for one high-quality framed piece will make the whole room feel more intentional and a lot more expensive than it actually is.
