What is Claude Monet's most famous water lily painting?

The best-known works come from Monet's late Water Lilies series, especially the large-scale panels he gave to the French state after the 1918 Armistice as a symbol of peace, now shown in Paris, and the monumental 1914-26 triptych held by a major New York museum. Reproductions of these late pond scenes, with their lavender-tinged cloud reflections and floating blooms, are the most widely printed and the easiest to recognize on a wall.

How many Water Lilies paintings did Monet create?

Monet painted roughly 250 works in the Water Lilies series over the last three decades of his life. They trace a journey from fairly literal views of his Giverny pond and its Japanese bridge toward looser, almost abstract studies of water, light and reflection. That range is useful when choosing a print: earlier compositions read as recognizable garden scenes, while later ones behave more like soft color fields.

Should I choose a framed or unframed Water Lilies print?

Framed is the simpler route if you want the piece finished and ready to hang straight out of the box, with no assembly needed. Unframed prints cost less and let you match an existing frame or mount several pond scenes in matching surrounds later. Framed prints of the Water Lilies are commonly searched for because a slim frame helps contain the soft, edgeless brushwork. Shipping is free and returns are open for 99 days, so it's low risk to try a format.
