Will bathtub art prints get damaged in a humid bathroom?

Our framed art prints use UV-protective acrylic glazing and museum-grade giclée printing on thick matte paper, so they're well protected against fading and light exposure. For a main bathroom with a shower or bath, we'd recommend hanging your bathtub art print on the wall opposite the shower or above the towel rack rather than directly above the tub where steam concentrates. An en-suite or powder room with decent ventilation is the ideal spot. Thousands of our customers hang framed prints in bathrooms with no issues.

What size bathtub print works best above a toilet or vanity?

For above a toilet, a 30x40cm or 40x50cm framed bathtub art print hits the sweet spot. It fills the wall without overwhelming a small space. Above a wider vanity unit, go bigger with a 50x70cm print so it feels intentional rather than lost. The 2/3 rule is useful here: your print should be roughly two-thirds the width of whatever's beneath it. All our framed prints arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you won't be messing around with fiddly hardware in a tight bathroom.

Do black and white bathtub prints work in a colourful bathroom?

They actually work brilliantly. A black and white bathtub print gives a busy or colourful bathroom a visual anchor, something calm the eye can land on. If you've got patterned tiles or bold paint, a monochrome clawfoot tub illustration in a clean white frame creates contrast without competing. We think black and white bathtub prints are the single most versatile choice for bathroom wall art because they suit everything from all-white minimalist spaces to rich green or navy walls.

Are vintage bathtub prints too quirky for a modern bathroom?

Not even slightly. Vintage bathtub prints with clawfoot tubs, Art Deco styling, or soft muted palettes actually bring warmth and personality to sleek, modern bathrooms that can otherwise feel a bit sterile. A single vintage bathtub illustration in an oak or black frame above a contemporary freestanding bath creates a really satisfying tension between old and new. It's one of those small decisions that makes a bathroom feel curated rather than just functional.

What kind of artwork looks good in a bathroom?

Bathtub art prints are the obvious thematic fit, but the real answer is anything that feels intentional for the space. Bathroom wall art works best when it leans into the room rather than ignoring it: think bathtub illustrations, botanical prints, or serene water-themed pieces. We'd steer you towards matte prints over glossy ones because you won't get distracting reflections from overhead bathroom lighting. Our giclée prints are naturally matte with rich colour depth, so they look fantastic even in small, bright spaces like powder rooms.
