How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Wirkt ein Poster mit so viel hellem Hintergrund auf einer großen Wand nicht leer?

Das kann passieren, wenn du zu klein gehst. An einer breiten Wand wähle die größeren Größen oder hänge es mit ein oder zwei ruhigeren Aquarellen zusammen, damit der helle Hintergrund zu gemeinsamem Atemraum wird. An einer schmaleren Wand, etwa 80 cm breit oder weniger, wirkt ein mittelgroßes Quadrat für sich allein mit etwas freiem Raum an beiden Seiten sehr stimmig.

Funktioniert es auch in einem Raum, der nicht neutral ist?

Ja, solange die Wandfarbe eher hell ist. Sanftes Grau, helles Grün, warmes Weiß und helles Blau passen gut, weil die Grautöne des Reihers sie aufnehmen. Sehr dunkle Wände lassen den Creme-Hintergrund flacher wirken, deshalb hält sich ein Motiv mit stärkerem Kontrast besser, wenn deine Wände tiefes Navy oder Anthrazit haben.

Ist der Reiher detailliert genug, um ihn aus der Ferne zu sehen?

Flügel und Schnabel sind die stärksten Formen, deshalb ist der Vogel aus zwei oder drei Metern gut erkennbar. Die feineren Details, die Wellen an seinen Füßen und die halb gemalte Spiegelung, sieht man erst aus der Nähe. Genau diese Mischung macht ihn sowohl für tägliche Laufwege als auch für Plätze geeignet, an denen du gern sitzt.
