Here's the trick: let the walking cat cut through all that dark wood. Rooms full of deep timber and heavy upholstery need one clean shape to look at, and a soft pink cat against dark green and navy does exactly that. The whole wall settles: the dark background reads as depth rather than gloom, and the three trees give the eye a rhythm to follow. Hang it above a sofa, a sideboard or a low bed, roughly two thirds the width of the furniture below. Pair it with cream stoneware, black metal, wool and linen. Don't crowd it with busy pattern or other strong colours - the flat blocks of colour need clear space either side to do their work. On canvas the surface has a soft hand-painted feel that suits the simple shapes.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Will the soft pink cat still read clearly on a dark wall?
Yes. The cat is a solid block of soft pink against dark green and navy, so it holds its shape even on deep paint. On a dark wall you lose a little of the edge between artwork and wall, which is why a black frame or a framed canvas edge helps. Keep a lamp or wall light nearby and the pink lifts straight off the surface.
Is this too playful for a living room?
It sits on the calm side of playful. The cat is simplified rather than cartoonish, and the palette is dark and quiet, so it behaves more like a graphic painting than a novelty pet picture. In a living room it works best above a sofa or sideboard, at a size big enough for the three trees and the walking cat to read from across the room.
What size should I go for in a landscape space?
Go larger than feels obvious. The composition relies on wide open bands of green and navy, and at small sizes those bands squeeze and the trees crowd the cat. Aim for something that spans roughly two thirds of the furniture below it, so the cat has room to walk and the sky keeps its weight above the horizon line.
