About This Art

Buy black cat for the story. Keep it for the soft pink. The piece nods to Monet's lily pond, with a small dark face peering out between the pads — a quiet joke played in pretty colours.

Once it's up, the room loosens. Greens, blues and a flicker of pink soften flat walls, and the cat gives people something to smile at without trying too hard. It reads as art first, novelty second.

Hang it where people sit a while — above a bed, a sofa, or at the end of a hallway. It likes daylight and gentle lamplight. A calm, off-white wall gives the colours room to breathe.

Pair with linen, oak, soft pink ceramics and a little brass. It plays nicely with quiet botanicals and other impressionist-leaning pieces.

Don't crowd it with loud graphics or strong reds. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang straight from the box.

I really loved it. I always wanted a black cat. Now I have a beautiful black cat in the canvas. Can’t wait to hang it up, however, there was no picture hanging hardware included to hang it up. That was a bit of a disappointment.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the soft pinks and greens read in a room with cool grey walls?

Yes, but they'll feel cooler and more washed-out. The print is happiest on a warm off-white or chalky cream wall, where the pinks lift and the greens look planted. On cool grey, pair it with a warm timber frame and a soft pink or linen accent in the room to bring the colours forward.

Is the cat the main subject, or does the pond take over?

The cat sits roughly in the upper-middle of the composition and is painted with cleaner lines than the rest of the pond, so the eye lands on the face first. The lily pads and water are loose and impressionist, which means the cat reads as the clear focal point even from across the room.

Does this work above a bed, or is it better behind a sofa?

Both work. Above a bed it brings a soft, gently romantic feel and ties in nicely with linen bedding. Behind a sofa it acts as a calm anchor and pulls cushion colours together. In either spot, a medium size at standing eye-level reads best.
