    About This Art

'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of pearly lilac and sea blue. This one carries quiet drama — close, generous, and full of light.

The room shifts the moment it goes up. Cream walls feel warmer, blue cabinets feel deliberate, and the worktop catches a little of the shimmer. It's the kind of art that makes a kitchen feel curated rather than just clean.

Hang it in a coastal kitchen, above a console in a dining room, or on a bright bathroom wall where the light bounces. Portrait orientation means it slots into narrower runs between cabinets or beside a window.

Pair it with pale oak, white ceramics, linen tea towels and brushed nickel. Soft blues, off-whites and warm sand tones in the room will echo the palette without competing.

Avoid hanging it against a strongly patterned wallpaper — the brushwork wants a quiet backdrop. Printed on thick fine-art paper for depth in the pearly mid-tones.

    Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

    Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the soft lilac and blue clash with warm wood cabinets?

It works fine with pale and mid-tone woods like oak, ash and limed timber — the warm sand notes in the painting bridge the two. Where it gets tricky is with deep red or strongly orange-toned wood, where the cool lilac can feel out of step. A neutral wall colour between the two helps.

Is the brushwork detailed enough to hang above a dining table where people see it up close?

Yes. The thick brushwork actually rewards close viewing — you can read individual strokes in the shell interiors and background. From across a room it reads as soft and pearly; from a metre away it shows the painterly texture. Either distance works.

Does the portrait shape limit where it can go in a kitchen?

Portrait suits narrow runs — between two upper cabinets, beside a window, on the short wall above a sideboard, or in a tall gap above a tea station. It's less suited to long horizontal stretches above a wide hob or a long worktop, where a landscape piece would balance the space better.
