About This Art

Think of it as Monet with less reverence and better instincts. The brushwork is loose and quick, but the view across the river reads clearly from the other side of the room. Hung up, it gives a flat wall depth — the bright blue water pulls the eye in and the cream buildings lift a dull corner without shouting. It sits well above a sofa, a console in a hallway, or on a landing wall where daylight hits it. Keep the furnishings simple: linen, pale wood, plain ceramics, off-white walls. Don't crowd it with other busy scenes or heavy pattern nearby, and skip a glossy dark wall — it flattens the light in the painting. On premium fine-art paper, the dabbed brushwork and paler tones stay crisp.

Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Can you tell it's Budapest, or does it just look like a general river city?

It reads as Budapest. The Hungarian Parliament Building sits across the water with its dome and spires clearly drawn, and the Danube runs in front of it with a river boat crossing. Step back a couple of metres and the skyline is unmistakable, even though the paintwork is loose and dabbed rather than sharply detailed.

Will the bright blue water take over a neutral room?

It will be the strongest colour in the room, which is usually the point. Against off-white, soft grey or pale wood it reads as a clean, fresh accent rather than a clash. If you'd rather tone it down, hang it on a wall away from direct sun and pick up the cream and soft pink in cushions or ceramics instead of adding more blue.

Does the portrait shape work above a wide sofa?

Yes, if you centre it and go large. A single tall piece above a wide sofa creates a deliberate gap either side, which looks intentional rather than skimpy. On a three-seater, either choose the biggest size you can, or add one smaller, quieter piece to the side so the arrangement spans more of the wall.
