About This Art

Before anyone mentions illustration style, notice what the soft terracotta does to pale oak. The walls warm up, the timber looks honeyed, and the room reads sunnier without changing a single bulb. It brings a holiday feeling into everyday rooms — the slow morning, the espresso, the lemon tree in a pot. Best hung at eye level in a kitchen, breakfast nook or dining corner where people actually sit down with a coffee. Works above a sideboard, a small console, or as a soloist on a narrow wall between cabinets. Pair with linen, stoneware mugs, rattan and creamy painted walls. Skip the dark, moody artwork next to it — this one wants air and warm light around it. Printed on premium fine-art paper, framed or unframed.

Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the warm terracotta tones clash with cool grey kitchen units?

Honestly, yes — the print leans warm, with terracotta walls, cream umbrellas and a soft green lemon tree. It sits best with cream, off-white, pale oak or warm painted walls. In a strictly cool grey-and-white kitchen it will feel like it belongs to a different room rather than tying things together.

Is the scene recognisably Rome, or could it pass for anywhere in Italy?

It reads as a general southern Italian street rather than a famous Roman landmark — terracotta and ochre buildings, green shutters, wrought-iron balconies and a cobbled street. There are no obvious Rome-specific cues like the Colosseum or a piazza fountain, so it works equally well as a wider 'Italian holiday' piece.

Does it work above a kitchen counter where there's steam and cooking?

It's better hung a step away from the hob — above a sideboard, breakfast table, console or in a breakfast nook. Direct steam and grease aren't great for any paper print or canvas long-term. A framed version with acrylic glazing gives a bit more protection if it has to sit nearer the action.
