About This Art

Buy a colourful dog portrait for the story. Keep it for the yellow. A scruffy white Westie stares straight back from a wall of yellow, blue, pink and red — loose brushwork, no fuss, plenty of personality. Hang it and the room loosens up. The walls feel less serious, the sofa looks more lived-in, and there's a focal point that gets a smile rather than a lecture. Best above a console in an entryway, over a sideboard in a playful living room, or on a feature wall in a kids' room. Pair with off-white or pale grey walls, oak or pale ash timber, and a sofa in cream linen or soft mustard. Skip the matchy pet-portrait wall — one bold dog is plenty. Printed on thick fine-art paper with rich, true colour.

Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

Made responsiblyFSC-certified wood and paper. Water-based, vegan inks. Crafted to order, so there's zero waste and zero guilt.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Does the dog look like a specific Westie, or is it more of a general portrait?

It reads as a classic West Highland White Terrier — scruffy white coat, alert ears, dark eyes and nose — but it's painted loose and expressive rather than as a likeness of one particular dog. It works as a general Westie tribute rather than a custom pet portrait.

Will the bright yellow and pink feel too loud in a calm living room?

It is a bold piece, so it needs space. On a quiet off-white or pale grey wall with low-key furniture around it, the colour reads as a cheerful focal point. In a room that is already busy with patterned wallpaper or other bright art, it will fight for attention.

Is the dog centred or does the composition pull to one side?

The dog sits roughly centred but slightly low in the frame, with the colour blocks framing the head and shoulders. It hangs well centred above a sideboard or console, and sits comfortably eye-level rather than needing to be raised.
