About This Art

Some portrait prints match a room. This one resets its pecking order. It is a duckling in a feathered flower bonnet, painted like an old family portrait, and it changes the temperature of a wall the moment it goes up. A quiet hallway stops being a corridor. A downstairs loo gets a joke worth reading twice. Because the colours are soft sage green, cream and warm beige, it stays gentle rather than shouty, so it suits painted panelling, floral curtains and cane furniture. Keep the surrounding wall fairly plain and let the piece be the talking point. Don't crowd it with other portraits or busy pattern at the same scale, or the humour gets lost. On premium fine-art paper the fine feather detail and pale border stay crisp.

Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will it look too twee in a grown-up room?

It reads more parlour portrait than novelty. The colours are muted sage green, cream and soft brown, and the painted oval and border give it a formal structure. In a room with painted walls, older furniture and plain textiles it comes across as dry humour rather than cute, which is why it suits hallways and studies as much as bedrooms.

Is it big enough to work on its own above a console?

Yes, at a medium size. It is a portrait shape, so it fills height rather than width. Above a narrow console or small chest, a medium size sits well with about 15 to 20cm of clear wall each side. If your console is wide, either size up or add one smaller quiet piece beside it.

Does the soft green work if my walls are white?

It does, and it is one of the easier pairings. The cream border creates a natural edge against a warm off-white wall, and the sage green reads clearly without clashing. On a cool bright white wall it can look slightly flat, so a white or cream frame helps hold it and gives the pale tones a defined boundary.
