About This Art

Yes, modern illustration knew how to charm a room — and how to cut. The cut here is the sharp blue sky: it stops the pastels from going syrupy and gives the whole picture a clean edge.

Put it up and a quiet room picks up a holiday register without tipping into theme-park coastal. The pinks soften the wall, the turquoise pool draws the eye down, and the small figures give you something to find on a second look.

It hangs best above a bed, a low chest of drawers, or in a hallway you walk past in daylight. Eye level or just above. Give it a bit of breathing room — it's a scene, not a pattern, and it needs the wall around it.

Pair it with pale timber, linen, white-painted wood and soft pink ceramics. Brushed brass works. Stoneware in clay or off-white works.

Don't crowd it with other busy travel scenes or strong primary colours — the palette is doing the work, and competing pictures will flatten it. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang, with the painterly brushwork softened slightly by the canvas weave.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the blue sky read as too cool against warm walls?

The pink buildings and warm skin tones balance the blue, so it doesn't feel icy on cream, oat or soft-clay walls. On a cooler grey wall the blue becomes the lead colour, which can look crisp and modern but more deliberately cool — worth knowing before you commit.

Is the scene busy enough to be a problem in a small room?

There's a lot going on — small figures, buildings, water — but the upper third is empty sky, which gives the eye somewhere to rest. In a small room it works best at medium size, hung where you can stand back a metre or so to read the detail.

Does it work in a child's room or only an adult bedroom?

It reads as grown-up holiday rather than cartoon, so it suits older children, teens and adults. For a young child's room the figures are quite small and the swimming-pool context is fairly literal — fine, but not a nursery piece.
