How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Does the word AMBIENT and the small caption text actually appear on the print?

Yes. The print includes the bold serif AMBIENT title block at the bottom, along with the small caption lines reading Experimental Design, Blue gradient on a black background, and School of Contemporary Art Studies. They're part of the artwork, not added labels.

Will the deep black background feel too heavy in a small room?

It can. The piece works best on a wall with a bit of breathing space around it — a study, a hallway with a long sightline, or above a sofa. In a very small room, choose a smaller size and keep the surrounding furniture low and pale so the black doesn't dominate.

What frame colour suits it best?

A slim black frame is the safest choice — it extends the black background and lets the iridescent ribbon stay the focus. Oak works if your room leans warmer and you want to soften the cool palette. Avoid gold or ornate frames; they fight the modern, graphic feel.
