How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Will the deep blue uniform look heavy in a small room?

Less than you'd think. The background is a pale blue-grey, not dark, so the print reads lighter overall than a moody portrait usually does. In a small study or hallway, keep the wall around it calm and let a lamp warm the blues in the evening.

Is this better above a desk or above a sofa?

Above a desk or console suits it best. The postman's gaze is direct and slightly downward, so eye level when seated feels natural. Above a sofa works too, but hang lower than you usually would so his eyes meet yours from the seat.

What frame colour suits it?

A slim black or oak frame both work. Black sharpens the deep blues and gives a more formal, dark-academia feel. Oak softens the whole thing and suits warmer rooms with cream walls and natural timber. Avoid heavy gold — it fights the painterly background.
