About This Art

Three things it does fast: ground sky blue, sharpen pale wood, wake a kitchen. The artichoke sits inside a stamp border, so it reads as a small, cheerful object rather than a picture of a vegetable. Hang it above a counter, beside a cooker, on a narrow strip of wall between cupboards, or over a small dining table. It suits painted cabinets, open shelves, stoneware and striped cotton. Grouped with two or three other food or plant illustrations it turns a plain kitchen wall into something people comment on. Don't crowd it with heavy dark landscapes or busy patterned art — the stamp shape needs a bit of clear wall to work. On premium fine-art paper the crayon texture and cream margin stay crisp and matte.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is it big enough to hold a kitchen wall on its own?

On a narrow wall or above a counter, yes — the stamp border gives it a clear edge so it reads as a deliberate object rather than a floating picture. On a wide, empty wall it will look lost, so either size up or hang it with two or three other small pictures in a row.

Will the blue clash with my green cabinets?

Usually not. The blue here is a soft sky tone and the greens in the artichoke are fresh rather than deep, so it sits comfortably with sage, olive or mid green cabinets. It works less well against very dark forest green, where the cream margin becomes the only thing you notice.

Does it work outside the kitchen?

Yes. It's a good small accent in a hallway, on a stair wall, or in a dining room above a small table. Anywhere you want one spot of colour at close range. It reads best at one to two metres, so choose a wall people walk past or sit near rather than a distant one.

Can I hang it near a hob or sink?

Keep it a sensible distance from splashes and direct steam, as you would with any framed picture. A side wall or the gap beside open shelving is safer than directly behind a hob, and it still stays in view while you cook.
