About This Art

White tile makes a bathroom hard. Every edge is square and every surface bounces light back at you. Hang this on the wall above the bath and the navy does something the tile cannot, it curls. The eye follows the arms along the whole width of the wall and the grout lines stop mattering. Cream in the background sits close to the colour of most bath enamel, so the two read as one calm surface with a single dark shape moving across it. Keep towels plain, white or a deep blue. Brass taps warm the navy nicely. Chrome keeps it cooler and sharper. Either works, but pick one. Over a headboard it does the same job against linen, and a soft bedhead gets one firm line to sit under. On canvas the cream wraps round the wooden frame and there is no glass to steam up.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the navy look too heavy in a small bathroom?

Not at this ratio. Over half of the picture is cream, so the wall stays light and only the shape itself is dark. In a small room with white tile the navy actually helps, because it gives the eye one place to settle instead of a grid of grout. Keep the rest of the wall empty and it reads as calm rather than heavy.

What width should I order for above a double bed?

Aim for the width of the headboard or a little less, which for a standard UK double means around 100 to 120cm across. The tentacles run the full length of the picture, so at that size they stretch nearly from one side of the bed to the other and the whole wall feels finished. Smaller than 80cm and it starts to look like a strip.

Does it work in a child's room or is it too grown-up?

It sits happily in both. The shape is friendly and the eyes are plain dots, so there is nothing menacing about it for a child, and the two-colour palette means it will not clash with toys or bedding. Hang it above a low bed or a desk at child height. In an adult bedroom the same restraint reads as coastal and considered.
