About This Art

We like botanical pattern best when it comes with a little abrasion. Here that abrasion is a small black cat sliding into the bottom of a Morris-style tulip-and-honeysuckle field, eyes up, watching you. Put it up and the room stops behaving like a showroom: the slate-blue ground deepens against painted plaster, the coral tulips warm any oak or rattan nearby, and the wallpaper-density pattern gives a quiet wall something to do. Hangs best in a hallway, study or kitchen breakfast nook — somewhere you'll pass it daily and clock the cat at different times. Pair with linen, aged brass, terracotta pots and an old wooden chair. Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?

Is this an actual William Morris design?

It's in the style of William Morris — drawing on his tulip, honeysuckle and acanthus motifs and Arts and Crafts colour sensibility — with a small black cat added at the bottom edge as a modern intervention. It is not a reproduction of a specific Morris textile.

Will the slate-blue background work in a small hallway?

Yes, surprisingly well. The cream border around the pattern keeps the slate from closing the space in, and the coral and sage break up the depth. It actually flatters narrow halls because the eye lands on the pattern rather than measuring the walls.

Does the 'William Morris Art and Cats Exhibition' text print at the bottom?

Yes — the exhibition-poster typography is part of the artwork and prints as shown. It reinforces the gallery-poster character of the piece and gives the cat its setup.
