About This Art

First glance: soft sky blue. Second glance: the bird in flight doing something smarter. It sits high and off to one side, so the rest of the picture stays open. Put it up and a room feels taller and quieter straight away, because there is nothing competing for attention. It works above a bed, along a hallway or on the wall a narrow bedroom looks at all day. Hang it slightly low so the bird lands near eye level. Pair it with pale wood, white bedding, washed linen and plain ceramics. Keep patterned wallpaper, busy shelving and dark heavy furniture off the same wall — the whole point is the empty space, and clutter cancels it out. On paper the blue stays flat and matt.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the pale blue read as grey on my wall?

It can shift a little. In a north-facing room the blue leans cooler and slightly grey; in warm afternoon light it reads softer and closer to sky blue. On a white or off-white wall the colour stays clearly blue. Against a strong grey wall it flattens, so a lighter wall is the safer choice.

The bird sits high in the picture — is that awkward to hang?

No, it just changes the height. Because the bird sits in the top third, hang it a touch lower than usual so the bird lands near eye level and the open blue falls below it. Above a bed or sofa, keep about 20–25cm of gap so the empty area reads as sky rather than a mistake.

Does it need to be big to work?

It benefits from size. Most of the picture is open colour, so a large size lets that blue do its job and makes the bird feel like it has room to move. At small sizes the composition can look sparse and the bird gets lost. If space is tight, choose a medium size on a narrow wall rather than a small one.
