About This Art

'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of deep blue-green. This is a tabletop and a Paris window folded into one flat picture, and it changes the temperature of a room fast. Put it up and a quiet wall suddenly has a centre of gravity: the dark green mass anchors the bottom of the room, the pale blue shutters pull the eye up. Hang it in a living room or study, at eye level on a plain wall, or over a low sideboard where the vertical shape has space to breathe. Pair it with dark wood, leather, deep velvet and simple stoneware. Don't crowd it with other patterned pieces or busy wallpaper — it needs quiet either side. Printed as canvas stretched over a wooden frame, so it arrives ready to hang.

We're serious about canvas art, ask away

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the picture too dark for a room that doesn't get much daylight?

It reads dark, but it holds up. The deep green and blue block in as a solid mass, while the pink and soft green shapes in the middle stay light enough to catch lamplight. In a dim room, hang it where a lamp or wall light falls across it and the middle section lifts straight away.

Does the French newspaper lettering date the room or look too literal?

The lettering is partial and broken across angled planes, so it reads as pattern more than text. Most people notice the shapes first and the words second. If you want it to sit quietly, keep other lettering off the same wall — one piece of type in a room is plenty.

What size works best for a tall, busy composition like this?

Go larger than instinct suggests. At small sizes the folded planes and the balcony ironwork crowd together and lose their read. Around 70cm tall or more, the window, the table and the still life separate properly. Leave clear wall on both sides so the vertical shape has room to stand up.
