About This Art

Most tall walls are cold. Landings, hallway ends and the strip between two windows get half the light of the room they belong to, and the paint goes grey by three in the afternoon. Hang this there and the gold does what a lamp would. The amber glow at the centre throws warmth back into the space, while the peacock blue and lavender at the edges stop it tipping into orange. A plaster pink or warm off-white wall behind it makes the blues sing. Deep navy paint makes the gold blaze instead. Dark stained treads or a walnut banister below pull the brown trunks into the woodwork. Keep it tall. At a metre high the sun sits at head height as you climb the stairs, which is the whole point. On premium fine-art paper the pale centre stays crisp behind the glazing.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the gold centre look orange on a warm white wall?

On a warm white it reads as sunlight rather than orange, because the blue and green circles at the edges balance it out. The risk is a peach or apricot wall, which pulls the whole piece towards the same tone and flattens the glow. Cooler off-whites, mid greys and deep navy make the centre look brightest, and navy makes it look lit from behind.

How tall should I go on a staircase wall?

Go for a piece at least a metre tall on a staircase. The 1:2 format follows the run of the stairs, and the pale sun should land roughly at eye level for someone standing on the landing. Centre it on the wall you face as you climb rather than the wall you walk beside, so the trunks stay upright to the eye and the glow greets you at the top.

Does it read as trees from across the room or just as dots?

From across a room it reads as a forest with low sun behind it, and the circles merge into foliage and light. Step within arm's length and the pattern takes over, with each circle showing its own rings of colour. That shift is the reason to hang it where people pass close by, like a hallway or landing, rather than far across an open plan room.
