About This Art

Black frame or none, and the room changes. A black edge holds the dark canopies in, so the golden sky stops reading as a glow and starts reading as a picture, sharp and graphic above a charcoal sofa. Skip the frame and the burnt orange of the trunks bleeds out into the wall, which suits a mustard or deep green painted room where you want the colour to feel like part of the paint. Oak is the wrong call here. It softens what should stay crisp. Put it on the study wall you face from the desk, at around 60cm square, and the small walker gives you somewhere to rest your eyes between emails. Walnut shelving under it, one plant, nothing else orange. The frame decides whether it is a poster or a window. Choose before you hang. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang, the canvas takes a framed option in the same black.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the orange trunks clash with a rust or terracotta sofa?

They sit close in colour, which is the risk. Two warm oranges side by side tend to cancel each other rather than fight, so the wall goes flat. It works far better above charcoal, deep green or dark brown seating, where the burnt orange has something to push against. If the sofa is rust, put the picture on a different wall and let the mustard sky do the linking.

How large does it need to be for the walker to read from across the room?

At 40cm square the figure is a speck and the picture becomes two trees. At 60cm he shows up from a doorway, and at 80cm or more the sense of scale between him and the canopies is the whole point. For a sofa wall, go large. For a desk you sit close to, 50 to 60cm is enough because you are only a metre away.

Does the yellow sky work in a dark green room?

Yes, and it is the best pairing. Deep green walls swallow most warm colours, but the mustard here is strong enough to hold, and the near-black foliage blends into the paint so the sky seems to open a hole in the wall. Keep the rest of that wall empty and use warm bulbs, because cool white light turns the yellow sour.
