About This Art

Leave the chalky off-white wall blank if you like cautious rooms. This one wants a frog on it. Hoji's little ink character has a confident, slightly grumpy face and a single, looping brush line for a body — and it carries a wall on its own. The room gets a bit of humour and a bit of weight at the same time, which is hard to pull off. Hang it eye-level above a writing desk, a low shelf, or in a hallway where people walk past slowly. Pairs well with oak, linen, stoneware and one or two old books left out. Don't surround it with other busy ink work — it needs space to do its trick. Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang, with a matte canvas surface that softens the contrast.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the calligraphic seal in the corner part of the print?

Yes. The small black seal in the upper-left is from the original Edo-era plate and prints alongside the frog. It anchors the composition in the corner and balances the weight of the frog on the lower right, so leave it in view rather than cropping it out at the framing stage.

Will the frog feel too plain on a large wall?

On a large wall it actually gets stronger, as long as you give it room. The trick is scale — go medium or large rather than small, and leave a wide margin of empty wall around it. Don't try to fill the surrounding space with other art; the empty paper around the frog is part of the design.

Does it work in a room that isn't Japandi or minimalist?

Yes. It sits surprisingly well in dark-academia studies, in book-heavy reading corners, and above a plain console in a country hallway. The warm cream paper keeps it from feeling cold, and the single subject means it doesn't fight with traditional or layered rooms as much as you'd think.
