About This Art

This isn't wall filler. It's black ink with a point of view. A grumpy little frog, drawn in loose woodblock strokes after the 18th-century Japanese illustrator Matsumoto Hoji.

Hang it and the room loosens up. The expression does the work — wide-eyed, turned-down mouth, sitting in plenty of warm off-white space. It quietly pulls a smile out of anyone who notices.

Works well in a kitchen, a study, a downstairs loo, or a narrow hallway where you want something with personality rather than another safe landscape. Sits beautifully above a console or a small writing desk.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the frog really that small on the page, or does it fill the print?

The frog sits in the upper half of the page with a lot of empty warm off-white paper around it. That space is part of the design — it's what gives the drawing its dry, deadpan feel. If you prefer art that fills the whole frame edge to edge, this isn't that piece.

Will the warm off-white background clash with cool white walls?

The paper is a soft, slightly creamy off-white rather than a bright white, so it sits comfortably on most wall colours — chalky off-white, warm grey, oat, sage, even darker walls. On a very cool bright white wall the paper will look a touch warmer, which most people read as cosy rather than clashing.

Does it work in a kid's room or nursery?

It can, but it's dry-humoured rather than cute. The frog's expression is more grumpy than cheerful, which older children often find very funny. For a younger nursery you may prefer something softer and more colourful.
