About This Art

We like cat illustrations best when they come with a little abrasion. This one has it — the brushwork is loose, the yellow wall is uneven, and the black cat in the window has a stare that means business.

Hang it and the room shifts towards holiday. The blues lift, the yellow warms, and the flowers do the loud talking so you don't have to. Suddenly the wall feels like a doorway to someone else's afternoon.

It works best in a kitchen, a sunny hallway, or a breakfast nook — anywhere with painted wood, scrubbed surfaces and the smell of coffee. Plain off-white walls give it the most room to sing.

Pair it with terracotta pots, linen, woven baskets and a bit of brass. Don't fight the yellow with another bold yellow nearby — let it be the warmest thing in the room.

Stretched over a wooden frame and ready to hang straight out of the box.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Is the yellow background going to overpower a small kitchen?

It's bright but warm rather than acid, and broken up by the blue shutters, green foliage and red pots. In a small kitchen it reads as a sunny window rather than a yellow wall — the eye lands on the cat first, then drifts around. Plain off-white walls help it sit calmly.

Does the cat face the viewer head-on, or does the eye-line pull to one side?

The cat sits roughly centre and looks straight out at you. The flowers and pots in the foreground are weighted slightly to the left, so the overall composition has a gentle leftward pull. It hangs well centred above a console, table or worktop.

Will this look right in a modern kitchen, or only in a rustic one?

It leans rustic but isn't stuck there. In a modern kitchen with plain cabinets and stone worktops, it works as a deliberate splash of warmth and personality. Avoid pairing it with very glossy, very minimal interiors — it wants a bit of texture nearby.
