About This Art

Most kitchen art gets hung small, and then it reads as a postcard pinned over the kettle. Go wider than feels sensible. At 100cm across, the black cuts across a cream wall at the same scale as a real shelf and the whole room gains a line to settle on. The long dining wall is where that pays off, hung low so the bottom edge sits a hand above the table. Plaster or painted brick behind it, a pine or oak table in front. Its cream is close enough to most kitchen whites that the join almost disappears. Keep the shelves near it clear. Nothing on that wall needs to compete. On canvas, with no glass, the chalky surface reads like part of the wall itself.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the black feel heavy in a small kitchen?

Less than you would expect. Around two thirds of the surface is cream and warm grey, so on a white wall the black shapes read as a few strong marks rather than a dark block. The piece works in a small kitchen if it gets a clear wall of its own. Trouble only starts when it shares the wall with dark cupboards or a black splashback.

How wide should it be above a dining table?

Aim for roughly two thirds of the table length, which for a standard six-seater means around 100 to 120cm across. Hang it low, with the bottom edge about a hand above the tabletop line when seated. Smaller than that and the sketched utensils lose their shape from across the room, which is where kitchen art is actually seen.

Does the cream clash with a bright white kitchen?

No, it warms it. The cream sits a shade below brilliant white, so against gloss white units it reads as a soft off-white rather than a yellow. Most people find it takes the clinical edge off a new white kitchen. If your walls are already a warm stone or oat colour, the join between wall and picture nearly disappears.
