About This Art

Buy a cityscape for the story. Keep it for the soft blue sky. This is Edinburgh Castle on its rock, drawn in the calm style of a 1950s travel poster.

Up on the wall, the room slows down. The pale sky lifts the space, the warm browns of the castle settle it, and the rust-red trees at the bottom add a quiet bit of autumn. It feels like a holiday memory you've decided to keep.

It's a strong fit for a hallway, a study, or the wall behind a small reading chair. Hang it at eye level so the castle sits roughly where your gaze lands.

Pair it with oak or walnut wood, tan leather, wool throws, a stoneware lamp, maybe a tartan cushion if the room can take it. Old books and a brass desk lamp are very much its kind of company.

Don't try to mix it with glossy modern abstracts or neon prints — it'll look stranded. Keep the company quiet and a bit traditional. As a canvas, the matte surface softens the sky and gives the rock a slightly painterly weight.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Does the print clearly show Edinburgh Castle, or is it stylised?

It's a stylised travel-poster illustration, not a photograph, but the castle is clearly Edinburgh Castle on its rock with the Old Town silhouette to the left. Anyone who knows the city will recognise it straight away, and the word 'Scotland' and 'Edinburgh Castle' are part of the design at the top.

Will the soft blue sky look cold in a warm-toned room?

No — the blue is pale and slightly grey rather than icy, and it's balanced by warm sand, mid-browns and a band of rust-red trees at the bottom. In rooms with oak, leather and warm lamplight it reads as calm rather than cold.

Is it better for a hallway or above a desk?

Both work. In a narrow hallway it gives you a clear focal point as you walk in. Above a writing desk or small console it acts like a window onto somewhere else, which suits studies and reading corners particularly well.
