Yes, Audubon knew how to charm a room — and how to cut. This is a faithful reproduction of his Fox-coloured Sparrow plate, hand-coloured in warm browns, soft greens and the odd flash of red berry on a cream ground. Bring it into a study, bedroom or hallway and the room slows down. It rewards close reading, so hang it at eye level above a desk, console or low chest of drawers where you'll actually look at it. It sits well with walnut and oak, aged leather, linen and worn books, and reads happily on sage, soft cream or chalky off-white walls. Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

Will the warm browns and cream look washed out on a very white modern wall?

On a very crisp bright-white wall the soft cream ground can read a touch flat. It looks best on a slightly warm off-white, soft cream or sage painted wall, or with a darker warm wood frame to give it a defined edge. If your walls are very white, lean on warm wood furniture, linen and a table lamp nearby to bring the warmth back into the room.

Is the detail still readable at a medium size, or do I need it big?

Medium is the sweet spot. The composition is detailed but not fussy, and the two sparrows, mossy nest and small red berries read clearly from a metre or two away. Going very large can make the cream ground feel empty. Hang it where you'll actually walk close — above a desk, console or low chest of drawers.

Does it work in a modern room, or only in a traditional one?

It works in both, but it leans warm and traditional. In a modern room it acts as a softening, grounding piece — pair it with one warm wood element, a linen or leather chair, and keep nearby pieces quiet. Avoid hanging it next to glossy chrome, neon or hard-edged abstract work, which will fight its detail.
