About This Art

Even the plaster in here starts looking expensive next to black ink on white. That is the trick with a piece this pared-back: it gives a wall a focal point without adding a single extra colour. Put it up and a flat stretch of wall suddenly has energy — the scribbled lines read as movement from across the room and settle into a clear dog shape as you get closer. It hangs well in a hallway, above a desk, or beside a doorway where a bigger picture would crowd things. Pair it with pale wood, painted furniture, black metal and plain textiles. Avoid busy patterned wallpaper or a cluster of colourful pieces right next to it — the drawing needs clear space to work. As a canvas the edges wrap round the frame, giving a softer, more relaxed finish.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the scribbled lines still read as a Great Dane from across the room?

Yes, from about two metres back the tangle of lines settles into a clear standing dog — the long neck, deep chest and cropped tail all read. Up close it looks more like pure drawing. That double effect is the point, but it does mean a larger size works better in bigger rooms so the shape holds from a distance.

Does it work on a coloured or wallpapered wall?

It works best on plain painted walls in off-white, soft grey or greige, where the white background blends and the black lines carry. On a strong colour the white area becomes a visible block, which can look boxy. If your wall is patterned, hang it with clear space either side or move it to a quieter wall.

Can I hang this with my other dog pictures?

Yes, as long as they are also black-and-white or very quiet. Photographs, simple line drawings and plain lettering all sit well beside it. Colourful pet illustrations pull against it, since this one has no colour to meet them halfway. Keep it as the largest piece in a group of two or three.
