About This Art

Painted tongue-and-groove needs one loud thing on it or it starts to feel like a changing room. Hang this in the downstairs loo, where the boards run pale blue or soft grey, and the coral red lettering does the shouting while the cream ground sits back and matches the gloss on the woodwork. The navy fish lands the joke. Keep it at eye level for someone standing, not sitting. Beside a small basin, with a plain mirror and a white towel, it reads as a souvenir someone actually brought home rather than a bathroom picture bought by the metre. Nothing else nautical nearby. One ship's wheel and the room tips into theme park. Give it 40cm of clear wall on either side and let the panelling do the rest. On fine-art paper behind acrylic glazing, the lettering stays crisp through years of steam.

Printing, Paper and Frames

Quality you can see (and feel)
Printed using museum-grade giclée technology on thick, matte art paper - no glare, just soft, natural colour that looks beautiful.

The kind of detail and depth that makes people lean in closer. Hand-framed in solid FSC-certified wood. Never cheap MDF or plastic-y veneers.

Won't fade, even in direct sunlight
Premium acrylic glaze with UV blocking keeps colours vibrant for 100+ years. Hang it anywhere - bedroom, hallway, that sunny spot above the sofa - without worry.

Unbox, hang, done
Arrives framed with fixtures already attached. Two minutes with a hammer and your wall goes from blank to "where did you get that?"

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the coral red clash with a blue bathroom?

Pale blue and soft grey-blue work in its favour, because the red sits opposite them and reads cleaner for it. The trouble starts with teal or turquoise tile, which pulls the eye away from the lettering, and with pink or terracotta, which muddy the red. Keep the rest of the room white and pale blue and the picture does the colour work.

What size works in a downstairs loo?

Around 50cm wide. The lettering needs to be readable from the door, which in most cloakrooms is about two metres away, and at that size the fish stays a fish rather than a wall of navy. Go wider only if the wall above the basin is at least 90cm clear, and leave a hand's width of white either side.

Is it too much of a novelty for a grown-up room?

In a hallway or bathroom it reads as a souvenir with a story, not a joke, provided it is the only nautical object nearby. Hang it on its own against white or whitewashed boards and let the typography carry it. Add a second fish, a rope mirror or an anchor and the room tips into theme pub.
