About This Art

Unlike most abstract art, this doesn't wait for approval. Four big blocks of rust, deep green, near-black and off-white sit against each other with no soft edges to hide behind. Put it up and the room stops feeling undecided. It gives a plain wall a centre of gravity, and it pulls warm and dark tones already in the room into some kind of order. Hang it above a low sofa, a sideboard or a writing desk, roughly at eye level, with plenty of clear wall either side. It sits well with leather, dark timber, black metal and stoneware. Don't crowd it with small framed pieces or busy patterned wallpaper, and don't hang it low behind a tall lamp. On canvas the chalky, worn surface of the blocks comes through more.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the rust and green fight with a warm white wall?

No. The off-white blocks inside the artwork are close to most warm whites, so the piece reads as part of the wall rather than a patch stuck on it. On a cooler grey-white the rust looks stronger and the near-black blocks get sharper. Both work, they just shift the mood warmer or crisper.

Is one large piece better than a few smaller ones here?

One large piece, in most rooms. The composition is built from four big blocks, so scale is doing the work. Small sizes squash the blocks together and the balance between the rust, green and near-black gets muddled. Go as large as the wall comfortably allows and leave clear space either side.

Does it need a lot of light to look good?

It handles low light well. The near-black blocks hold their shape even in a dim corner, and the rust warms up under lamplight in the evening. In strong daylight the chalky, scraped texture across the rust and green shows more clearly, so a wall that changes light through the day suits it best.
