About This Art

Yes, the artist who drew this cat knew how to charm a room — and how to cut. The soft greys and the wide sweep of white around the cat do the charming; the sharp pencil work does the cutting, so the piece never turns into a fluffy greetings card. Put it up and a quiet wall gets a focal point without any extra colour. It suits the space above a bed, a hallway console, or a desk in a small study, hung low enough that you can read the fur. Pair it with linen bedding, pale wood, wool throws and a chalky white or soft grey wall. Don't crowd it with busy pattern or loud colour prints — the white space is doing half the work. As a canvas it reads softer and more matt, with no shine over the fine lines.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?

Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.

When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.

Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?

Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.

You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.

How do I know what size will actually work in my space?

Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.

Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

Still not sure? Contact our team with a photo of your space and we'll tell you exactly what size will work.

What's your return policy?

If it shows up and you're not happy with it, you have 99 days to return it for a full refund—no questions asked.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.

Will the white background match my wall, or will it look like a pale patch?

The background is a clean bright white, so on a chalky off-white or soft grey wall it reads as part of the drawing rather than a mismatch. If your wall is cream or a warm beige, a slim black frame or a white mount gives the edge a clear stopping point and the difference stops being noticeable.

Does it still work if my cat isn't a Maine Coon?

Yes. The appeal here is the pose and the long, soft fur rather than a breed record, so it reads simply as a contented sleeping cat. Owners of tabbies, moggies and other long-haired cats tend to see their own pet in it. It is a drawing of a mood as much as a breed.

How close do I need to be to see the detail?

Between about one and two and a half metres is the sweet spot. Further back and the fur reads as soft grey shading; closer in you can follow individual pencil strokes and whiskers. That is why it works better above a bed, desk or console than high up on a big open wall.
