Which size urban art print works best above a sofa or bed?

For a standard UK sofa (around 180-200cm wide), we'd go for a single 70x100cm framed urban scene art print. It fills roughly two-thirds of the sofa width, which looks intentional rather than lost. Above a double bed, the same size works beautifully in landscape orientation. Our framed prints arrive ready to hang with fixtures already attached, so you can get it on the wall in minutes rather than spending a weekend wrestling with separate frames.

Do cityscape art prints work in rooms that aren't modern or industrial?

Absolutely. Urban scene prints are more versatile than people expect. A moody, muted cityscape in a warm wood frame looks completely at home in a mid-century or even traditional living room. The trick is to match the print's palette to your existing scheme rather than worrying about the subject clashing with your style. Black and white city prints are especially good at this because they're tonally neutral and sit comfortably alongside almost any furniture or textiles.

How do I create a gallery wall with urban and street art prints?

Start with one larger anchor piece (50x70cm is ideal) and build outward with two or three smaller prints (30x40cm or 40x50cm). Stick to a single frame finish across all pieces to keep it cohesive, even if the images vary from gritty street photography to architectural shots. Keep 5-7cm between each frame. Our prints are museum-grade giclée on thick matte paper with UV-protective glazing, so even if your gallery wall catches direct sunlight, the colours won't fade over time.

Are black and white city prints a safer choice than colour?

Safer, yes, but not always better. Black and white city prints are brilliant if your room already has a lot of colour or pattern because they add visual interest without competing. But if you have a fairly neutral space with muted walls and simple furniture, a colour urban landscape print with warm tones (think golden hour over a skyline) will give the room the energy it's missing. We think colour cityscapes are underrated and often the thing that finishes a room.

How does urban art differ from contemporary art, and which suits a home setting?

Urban art draws its energy from the built environment: city streets, architecture, graffiti, neon signs, the texture of concrete. Contemporary art is a broader umbrella that can include anything made today, from abstract colour fields to digital collages. For a home, urban scene art prints tend to land better because they're grounded in something recognisable. You look at a rain-slicked London street or a New York fire escape and you feel something specific, which makes a room feel more personal than a purely abstract piece might.
