How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.
What makes Fab frames so good?
Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
Is the gold actually metallic, or does it print flat?
It prints as warm gold pigment, not foil or metallic ink — closer to the look of dried gold leaf on canvas than to a shiny finish. In raking side-light it picks up warmth and depth; in flat overhead light it reads as a soft ochre-mustard. That's intentional, and it's why the piece sits comfortably in painterly schemes rather than feeling glitzy.
Will the figure read as a person at a distance, or just disappear?
From across an average bedroom (around 3 metres) the figure registers as a small silhouette and reflection — clearly a person, but quietly. Up close, brushwork takes over and the piece tips into pure abstract. Go large if you want the figure to anchor the composition; at smaller sizes she becomes more incidental and the gold passages dominate.
Will the warm gold clash with cool grey walls or chrome fittings?
Cool grey walls are fine — the dominant body of the piece is the same chalky grey, so it sits in rather than fights. Chrome and polished nickel can feel cold next to the warm gold passages; brushed brass, aged bronze, oak or pale timber sit far more naturally. If your room is heavy on cool metals, plan to bring one warm element in alongside the artwork.
