En novembre, un palier devient couloir : la lumière tombe à quatre heures, les murs grisent, l’escalier n’est plus qu’un passage. Accrochez cette affiche sur le palier : l’orange fait ce qu’une lampe ne peut pas. Le bleu sarcelle profond se fond dans l’ombre, la veine incandescente capte le moindre rayon et le retient. Sur un enduit brut ou un blanc cassé crayeux, la couleur paraît plus ardente encore. Gardez le sol sobre, un tapis d’escalier en laine foncée, aucune matière à motifs à proximité. Au printemps, l’ensemble s’apaise : la lumière du jour réveille le sarcelle et l’œuvre se lit comme de l’eau plutôt que comme du feu. Dans tous les cas, elle mérite sa place au mur pendant les mois froids — c’est l’épreuve décisive. Imprimée sur papier beaux-arts et encadrée de noir, l’orange gagne encore en précision.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Est-ce que l’orange va jurer avec un mur bleu sarcelle ou bleu marine ?

Au contraire. Les murs bleu sarcelle et bleu marine reprennent le fond de l’œuvre, si bien que les bords semblent presque disparaître et seule la veine orange avance. Cela donne une ligne lumineuse sur un mur sombre plutôt qu’un rectangle de couleur. Les vrais faux pas viennent des murs de ton moyen, surtout les gris chauds et les beiges, qui se heurtent au bleu sarcelle et ternissent l’orange en même temps.

Quelle hauteur faut-il pour que cela fonctionne dans un escalier ?

Visez au moins 80 cm de haut, et plus de 100 cm si le mur du palier monte sur toute la hauteur d’un étage. La veine suit une diagonale, et cette ligne a besoin de longueur pour guider le regard vers le haut avec les marches. Accrochez-la de sorte que le bas se situe vers la hauteur des hanches depuis le sol du palier, pas selon la règle du niveau des yeux utilisée dans un salon, car on la voit en montant.

Est-ce réservé aux couloirs, ou est-ce aussi adapté à un salon ?

Cela fonctionne dans un salon lorsqu’il existe un véritable emplacement haut à habiller, comme l’espace entre deux fenêtres, le mur à côté d’une cheminée ou le retour près d’une porte. Sur un grand mur derrière un canapé, l’œuvre paraît isolée. Des murs sombres, du cuir fauve et un poêle à bois lui offrent le meilleur écrin, et l’orange paraît le plus chaleureux dans la lumière hivernale tamisée.
