Do vintage sea art prints work in a bathroom?

They're one of the best things you can hang in a bathroom, honestly. Vintage sea art prints bring warmth and character to a space that usually gets ignored. Our framed prints use UV-protective acrylic glazing, so they won't fade even in a bright, south-facing bathroom. We'd go with a single 40x50cm framed print in a natural oak frame above the toilet or towel rail. The matte paper and glazing mean zero glare under bathroom spotlights, which is a real bonus.

How do I mix vintage nautical prints without it looking like a themed restaurant?

The trick is restraint and tonal consistency. Pick two or three vintage nautical prints that share a similar colour palette (muted blues, warm creams, faded ochres) and vary the subject matter: maybe a maritime chart, a painted seascape, and a study of shells. Hang them as a loose gallery wall rather than a rigid grid, and keep the frames the same colour. A set of three prints in black frames on a hallway wall reads as curated. What size vintage sea print should I choose for above a sofa?

For a standard UK three-seater sofa (around 200cm wide), you want your artwork to cover roughly two-thirds of that width. A single large print at 70x100cm makes a brilliant statement, or a pair of 40x50cm framed prints spaced about 10cm apart. We'd lean towards the single large print for vintage sea art because these designs tend to have beautiful detail that deserves space to breathe.
