How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

What size should I choose for above a sideboard or sofa?

Aim for the piece to cover about two-thirds of the furniture width. On a 180 cm sofa or sideboard that means roughly 120 cm across. Because the lobster runs claw to tail across the whole width, a larger size lets the shapes and colour bands read clearly, while a small one can look like a thin strip on a big wall.

Is the lobster easy to recognise, or is it fully abstract?

It reads clearly as a lobster from across the room. The two rust claws, long black antennae, jointed legs and fanned tail are all there in flat, simple shapes. What makes it abstract is the set of vertical colour bands crossing the body, which shift the colours of each section as they pass through.

Will it suit a kitchen with green or wooden cabinets?

Yes, it suits both. The deep forest green band sits well beside green-painted cabinets, and the sage and khaki tones pick up softer green paint too. With oak, walnut or pine units, the rust claws and cream ground bring out the warmth of the wood. It is less suited to cool grey or high-gloss white kitchens, where the earthy tones can look muddy.
