Dans les années 1930, ce portrait au crayon vivait dans un autre type d’intérieur. Accrochez-le et la pièce ralentit. Son fond crème chaleureux évoque presque un plâtre nu, adoucissant le mur, tandis que les lignes grises du crayon offrent au regard un point d’ancrage paisible. Il fonctionne au-dessus d’un lit, sur une commode basse, ou sur le mur d’un espace d’étude, à côté d’un bureau, là où l’on préfère le réfléchi au tapageur. Associez-le au lin, au cannage, au grès et aux bois sombres, en laissant le mur sobre. Évitez de l’encombrer de motifs chargés ou d’affiches graphiques très vives : le dessin est discret et a besoin d’un peu d’espace nu pour se faire entendre. How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Un dessin aussi pâle aura-t-il l'air délavé sur un mur blanc ?

Ça tient, mais il faut l'aider. Le fond est crème chaud plutôt que blanc pur, donc il se distingue de la plupart des murs peints. Sur un mur très blanc, un cadre noir fin donne de la définition aux bords. Sur un mur blanc cassé chaud ou gris doux, il se lit au mieux, les traits de crayon faisant tout le travail.

Le sujet est-il trop triste pour une chambre ?

La figure se repose plutôt qu'elle n'est en détresse : yeux fermés, bras croisés. La plupart des gens la perçoivent comme intime et tournée vers l'intérieur plutôt que dérangeante. Dans une chambre elle joue le rôle d'un point final doux au-dessus d'une tête de lit. Si vous voulez une œuvre qui remonte l'humeur plutôt que l'installer, choisissez quelque chose de plus lumineux.

Quelle taille convient le mieux au format carré ?

Le format moyen est l'idéal. La figure est centrée avec un généreux espace crème autour, donc un carré de taille moyenne conserve cette respiration sans que les traits ne paraissent trop fins. Au-dessus d'une console ou d'un bureau, visez environ les deux tiers de la largeur du meuble. Augmentez la taille seulement sur un mur large et dégagé.
