On aime les cartes du ciel anciennes quand elles portent quelques marques du temps. Celle-ci arbore ses éraflures, ses rousseurs et ses coins déchirés comme un insigne : issue d'une véritable planche de comètes de 1847, pas une réédition lissée. Accrochée, la pièce gagne en calme et en mystère. Les conversations ralentissent. On se penche pour lire les dates. Elle trouve naturellement sa place dans un bureau, un couloir ou au-dessus d'un buffet dans un salon plus sombre. Elle fonctionne aussi en chambre si vous voulez quelque chose d'un peu plus intéressant qu'un paysage. Associez-la à du bois sombre, du cuir patiné, du laiton et du lin lavé. Un vert profond ou un blanc cassé crayeux flatte ses tons crème. Évitez de la noyer parmi des graphismes modernes et très colorés : laissez parler le vieux papier. Toile montée sur châssis en bois, prête à accrocher.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Les éraflures, taches de foxing et coins déchirés sont-ils imprimés sur l'œuvre ?

Oui. Les marques de vieillissement du papier, les taches de foxing et les coins déchirés visibles sur l'image font partie de l'impression et sont reproduits fidèlement. Nous ne les avons pas nettoyés car ce sont eux qui confèrent à la carte son caractère de 1847. Si vous voulez un aspect impeccable et intact, ce n'est pas ce modèle.

Les dates et numéros des comètes sont-ils lisibles à une distance normale de visionnage ?

À une taille moyenne, accrochée à hauteur des yeux, les chiffres d'année (1585, 1680, 1744, 1843 et ainsi de suite) se lisent clairement à environ un mètre. Les formats plus petits restent identifiables comme une carte de comètes mais les dates deviennent moins nettes. Pour un bureau ou un couloir où l'on passe près, la taille moyenne est le juste milieu.

Le fond sombre paraîtra-t-il trop lourd dans une petite pièce ?

Cela dépend de vos murs. Sur un plâtre pâle ou un mur blanc cassé crayeux, le fond sombre se lit comme un point d'ancrage calme plutôt que comme un trou noir. Sur un mur déjà foncé (vert profond, marine) il s'intègre magnifiquement. Évitez de l'accrocher dans un espace très exigu et peu lumineux si vous voulez que les tons crème ressortent.
