Riguardo a quest'opera

For a living room full of curves, this peacock study brings the check. The mustard yellow background does the heavy lifting, so the wall reads warm even before you notice the teal neck and the long tail of green and gold eye feathers. Hang it above a sideboard or between two windows, where afternoon light can pick up the gold. It sits happily with velvet seating, dark wood, cane, brass and green glazed pots, and it lifts a chalky off-white wall without shouting. Don't crowd it with other strong yellows or busy patterned art — this one wants a bit of clear wall on each side. As a canvas the mustard background reads softer and more painterly from across the room.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

What makes Fab frames so good?

Not all frames are created equal. Many cheap frames are made with acidic materials or glazes that lack UV protection—meaning your beautiful print could fade, discolor, or deteriorate over time.

At Fab, we do things differently. Our frames are thoughtfully built to preserve and protect your artwork for the long haul. We use FSC-certified wood, 100% acid-free materials, and a UV-protective glaze to keep your print looking vibrant for decades.

That’s why our prints have an 80+ year archival lifespan—no fading, no yellowing, just art you’ll love for years to come.

If you're investing in art you love, it's worth framing it right.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Is the yellow background too strong for an off-white living room?

It reads as warm rather than harsh. The mustard is muted and slightly textured, so on an off-white wall it acts like a patch of afternoon light rather than a bright block. Give it clear wall on either side and keep nearby accessories in wood, green or cream so the yellow stays the only loud note.

Does the tail detail get lost at smaller sizes?

The eye feathers are the finest part of the picture, so we'd go medium rather than small if you want to read them properly. At medium and above you can pick out the individual eyes and the barred wing pattern from a couple of metres away. Small works if it's going somewhere you pass close, like a hallway.

Will it work in a dining room with a dark painted wall?

Yes, and it's one of the better places for it. The mustard ground lifts straight off deep green, navy or charcoal paint, and the teal neck picks up any green in the room. Hang it slightly above eye level over a sideboard or bench so the tail sweeps into your sightline when you're seated.
