    'Too safe,' said nobody standing in front of dark green. This is a vintage-style engraving of a long-necked sea reptile, printed almost black on a solid green panel with a cream border. Put it up and the wall stops being background. The green does the heavy lifting, so the room reads calmer and a little older than it did before, while the subject gives everyone something to talk about. It works well above a desk, along a hallway, or on a bookshelf wall where the spines already carry colour. Pair it with dark wood, painted joinery and warm metal fittings.     How do I frame an art print?

    Good news—you don’t have to!

    All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

    • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
    • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
    • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
    • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

    Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

    How do I hang art prints?

    It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

    Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

    1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

    2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

    3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

    Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

    Is the green as dark in real life as it looks on screen?

    It reads as a deep, slightly grey-toned green rather than a bright bottle green, with the animal picked out in near-black lines. On a pale wall it looks like a solid block of colour. In a room painted a darker shade it settles in more and the cream border does most of the separating.

    Will the fine engraved detail still show at a smaller size?

    The neck, eye and flipper detail is drawn in very fine hatching, so smaller sizes lose some of it from across a room. Medium is the sweet spot: close up you can see the linework, and from a couple of metres the silhouette and green panel still hold the wall on their own.

    Is this too grown-up for a child's bedroom?

    Not at all — it's the sort of picture a fossil-obsessed child grows into rather than out of. The muted green keeps it calm enough for a bedroom, and it looks right above a low bookshelf with rocks and books. It also carries on working if the room later becomes a study.
