How do I frame an art print?
Good news—you don’t have to!
All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:
- Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
- We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
- Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
- Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.
Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.
What makes Fab frames so good?

How do I hang art prints?
It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.
Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:
- Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.
- Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.
- For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.
Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.
Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall
Is the cream background actually cream, or closer to white?
It's a soft warm cream with a slightly aged tone, not a bright white. It reads as off-white from across a room and warms up under lamplight in the evening. On a chalky off-white wall it'll feel like part of the wall; on a stark cool-white wall the contrast will be more noticeable.
Will this look too small above a standard double bed?
At the medium size, a single print can look a touch lean above a double bed. Either size up to large for a solo hang, or pair it with a second Audubon plate or a quiet botanical of similar proportions. Two narrow verticals side by side read better than one undersized print floating in the middle.
Is the Latin text and plate number printed on the artwork itself?
Yes — the original plate includes 'Lincoln Finch / Fringilla Lincolnii' and 'Plate CXCIII' along the lower edge, along with the plant identifications. It's part of the period character of the piece. If you want a cleaner look, an oak frame with a generous mount draws the eye to the bird rather than the type.
