Riguardo a quest'opera
Luglio è il momento in cui la cucina se lo merita. La porta sul retro resta aperta, qualcuno ha trovato i bicchieri belli e quella parete sottile tra il frigo e il giardino chiede di essere guardata. Appendila lì, alta e sola. L’inchiostro nero su fondo crema regge il confronto con le piastrelle bianche e un top in marmo, e si legge nitida anche dal tavolo in fondo alla stanza. Dagli tutta l’altezza della parete: a 40 cm di larghezza sembra uno scarabocchio, a 70 cm diventa la padrona di casa. In inverno continua a funzionare, perché una ciliegina su una pallina di gelato promette che l’estate tornerà. Niente colori intorno. Uno sgabello nero, una tovaglia di lino semplice, e la stanza sembra studiata a regola d’arte. Montata su tela, si appende senza vetro: così la luce della cucina non rimbalza mai sulla superficie.

Are Fab canvas prints good quality?
Absolutely. We use museum-grade canvas (the same stuff galleries use) stretched over solid wood frames. The canvas is thick enough that you can't see through it, and we wrap the print around the edges so there's no white border it looks finished from every angle.
When people see it on your wall, they'll assume you bought it at a gallery, not online.
Does it come ready to hang? Is it available framed?
Yes to both. Every canvas comes stretched over solid wood and ready to hang - hardware's already on the back, just hang it up.
You can choose unframed (modern, minimalist look - the print wraps around the edges) or add our real wood frame for a more polished, gallery finish. Either way, it's ready to go straight on your wall. No assembly, no extra trips to the frame shop.
How do I know what size will actually work in my space?
Here's the rule of thumb: your canvas should take up about 2/3 to 3/4 of the width of your furniture (like a sofa or bed). So if your couch is 180cm, you want something around 100-120cm wide.
Too small of a canvas looks lost on the wall. Too big overwhelms the room. If you're between sizes, go bigger it's almost always better to have impact than to have something that disappears.

We've been doing this long enough to know that sometimes a piece just doesn't work in your space, and that's fine. Just email us and we'll sort it out.
Starà male su una parete alta del corridoio?
Di solito è il contrario. La sua forma alta è pensata per una parete stretta, quindi scegli la misura in base all’altezza della parete e non alla larghezza. Su una parete di 2,4 metri, una stampa alta circa 100 cm appesa con il centro all’altezza degli occhi riempie lo spazio senza toccare battiscopa o soffitto. Sotto i 60 cm di altezza, le linee sottili iniziano a perdersi da lontano in un corridoio.
Il fondo crema stona in una cucina molto bianca?
No, la ammorbidisce. Contro pareti e piastrelle bianchissime, il crema sembra carta calda più che un colore diverso, e la linea nera crea il contrasto. Tieni tutto ciò che le sta vicino semplice. Piastrelle bianche, marmo, intonaco chiaro o metallo nero si abbinano bene. Un colore forte sulla stessa parete, come un bollitore rosso o una alzatina colorata, litigherebbe con l’inchiostro nero.
È troppo da cucina per una sala da pranzo?
Si sposta facilmente in sala da pranzo, soprattutto tra due finestre o sulla parete stretta accanto a un sideboard. Il soggetto è un dessert in un bicchiere, quindi richiama più un tema bar o cena che cucina. In sala da pranzo rende soprattutto la sera, quando una singola sospensione mette in risalto la linea nera e il resto della parete si fa silenzioso.
