Eerst vallen de stammen op: hoog, donker, bijna architectonisch. Even later lichten de goudtinten en zwierige accenten op en geven ze de bovenhelft van de kamer glans. Mooi gehangen verwarmt het een koele ruimte zonder die te dimmen. Staat het beste boven een lage bank, een dressoir of op een schouw met ruimte om te ademen. Combineer met velours of bouclé in olijf of ossenbloedrood, met geleefd leer, noten- of eikenhout en messing accenten die het goud oppakken. Vermijd koele of chroomzware elementen in de buurt — die vechten tegen de warmte. Gespannen op een houten frame, zodat het oppervlak onder lamplicht zijn gloed behoudt.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Will the dark background make a small room feel heavy?

Less than you'd think. The trunks are dark but the top and middle of the image glow gold, so the eye keeps moving up. In a smaller room, hang it where one lamp can catch it after dark — that's when it really earns its place. Pair with warm walls rather than cool grey to keep things balanced.

Does the gold actually shimmer, or is it printed flat?

It's printed, not foiled, so there's no metallic shine — but the warm tones and high contrast give it a real glow under lamplight. The effect reads as gold rather than gloss, which means it works in daylight too and won't go patchy at odd angles like real foil sometimes does.

Is the square format better above a sofa or a sideboard?

Both work. Above a sideboard or console it sits centred and quiet, with the trunks lining up nicely with the furniture below. Above a sofa, go large — at least two-thirds the sofa width — and leave a clear gap above any cushions so the dark base of the painting doesn't feel crowded.
