Over dit kunstwerk
Vanaf de deuropening valt eerst het zwart op. Een hele wand, en dan die ogen. Bezoekers lachen al bij binnenkomst, nog vóór de jas uit is – dat doet niet elk kunstwerk. Hang dit canvas aan de muur die je ziet als je binnenloopt, boven een lage console of eenvoudige bank. De crèmekleurige spoken lichten een donkere hal op in plaats van die te verzwaren. Offwhite muren laten het zwart bewust en doordacht ogen. Een zwarte metalen kapstok eronder herhaalt de lijn, waardoor de hele entree verzorgd en gepland aanvoelt. Laat het gerust hangen na oktober. In een kinderkamer wordt het een vriendelijke vorm van donker; in de woonkamer boven de bank doorbreekt het een te nette, neutrale basis. Geen patronen er direct naast – de grap heeft ruimte nodig. Op canvas blijft de ruwe, penseelachtige zwarte achtergrond mooi zichtbaar en het werk hangt zonder glas, dus geen storende schittering.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Maakt een vooral zwart beeld mijn woonkamer donkerder?
Meestal juist niet. Een vlakke zwarte vorm geeft crème muren en lichte banken iets om tegen af te steken, en de kamer oogt er lichter doorheen. Het risico zit in een kleine ruimte met één raam op het noorden en geen lampen, waar elk donker beeld wegvalt. Geef het een warme lamp binnen een meter en een gebroken witte muur, dan leest het zwart als een bewuste keuze.

Is dit te eng voor een kamer van een jong kind?
De geesten hebben ronde schouders en lege blikken, meer als een groep kussens dan als iets uit een film. De meeste kinderen vinden het binnen een seconde grappig. Hang het op hun ooghoogte in plaats van die van jou, houd het beddengoed simpel in crème of met een zwarte streep, en laat glowstars of oranje accenten weg, want die maken het al snel meer een kostuumwinkel.

Werkt dit alleen met Halloween?
Het werkt vooral goed als niemand anders in huis met Halloween bezig is. In oktober doet het mee. In maart is het een zwart-crème beeld van een groep, en dat hangt net zo goed boven een bank of in een hal met licht eiken en zwart metalen details. Zie het eerst als een grafisch werk en pas daarna als seizoensbeeld, en dan verdient het een vaste plek.
