Over dit kunstwerk
Een rustige blikvanger voor de overloop. Dit diepe blauw heeft genoeg kracht op zichzelf. Laat andere lijsten in de kast en houd de muur krijtwit of zacht steen. Geen patroonloper eronder: dit ontwerp vraagt om stilte eromheen. William Morris tekende dit motief om eindeloos te herhalen op stof. De onafgewerkte randen laten zijn handwerk zien, daarom werkt het het best met eenvoudige elementen: strak geschilderde spijlen, een kale eiken trede, één lamp als het donker is. De mosterdgele bloemen halen subtiel de warmte uit het hout naar voren, zonder dat er een bijpassende kussen nodig is. Hang de poster iets lager dan je eerste ingeving, zodat de tekening op ooghoogte valt wanneer je de trap oploopt. Alles extra op die wand concurreert met de potloodlijnen – en juist die potloodlijnen zijn de essentie. Achter acrylglas blijft de papiertint mooi zuiver, ook bij een raam op de overloop.

How do I frame an art print?

Good news—you don’t have to!

All of our prints are available professionally framed and ready to hang, so you can skip the trip to the framing shop and get straight to the fun part: styling your space. Here’s more info about our frames and service:

  • Your choice of timeless frames - natural wood, black, white, brown, silver and, of course, gold.
  • We use shatter-resistant acrylic glazing keeping delivery costs down and shielding your print from fading or sun damage—something cheaper glazes just don’t do.
  • Every frame is carefully sealed on the back using acid-free, archival tape —keeping dust and moisture out and your print beautifully preserved.
  • Hanging hardware already attached so just unbox, hang, and enjoy.

Prefer to frame it yourself? That’s totally fine too—we offer unframed prints in standard and A-sizes that fit most frames you can buy.

How do I hang art prints?

It’s easier than you think—especially since our framed prints arrive ready to hang straight out of the box.

Here’s how to do it in a few simple steps:

  1. Pick a wall that needs a little love—above a sofa, bed, desk, or entryway works great.

  2. Make sure the space suits the size of your print (our size guide can help). Use painter’s tape or a pencil to mark where you want the top of the frame to sit.

  3. For single prints, aim for eye level (around 57–60 inches from the floor). Every Fab framed print comes with hanging hardware already attached.

Use a picture hook, nail, or adhesive wall strips, depending on your wall type and the weight of the frame. That’s it—your space just got a whole lot more beautiful.

Bonus tip: For a gallery wall, lay your prints on the floor first to plan your layout before committing to the wall

Zal het diepe blauw niet te zwaar ogen in een hal zonder raam?
Het blauw neemt minder dan een vijfde van het beeld in, en de rest is een lichte papierondergrond, dus in een donkere hal oogt het stuk vooral licht met een donkere baan erin. Houd de muur gebroken wit en voeg er een warme lamp bij. De mosterdgele bloemen lichten op in lamplicht en voorkomen dat het blauw vlak wordt.

Ziet de tekening er onafgewerkt uit aan de muur?
Het is een werktekening, dus potloodhulplijnen, kleursamples en Morris' notities zijn allemaal zichtbaar rond het geschilderde deel. Aan de muur leest dat als bewust, zoals een museale studie, en juist dat geeft het stuk zijn interesse. Als je een strak patroon van rand tot rand wilt, past een van de afgewerkte Morris-patronen beter bij je.

Welke maat werkt op de muur tussen twee ramen?
Meet eerst de ruimte. Het stuk is twee keer zo hoog als breed, dus een muur van 50 cm breed neemt een groot formaat comfortabel op, met aan weerszijden een handbreedte muur over. Hang het zo dat het midden iets onder ooghoogte zit, dan sluiten de bloemen mooi aan op de vensterbanken en voelt de strook niet te zwaar van boven.
